  Already at an early stage Peter Ghyczy broke through as an innovative furniture designer. Just after making his degree in architecture at the University of Aachen he was asked by the Reuter Company to design plastic furniture. A lot of his designs date from this period (1968 - 1972) like the characteristic "Egg".  In 1972 Peter Ghyczy created his own company Ghyczy Selection. " Because of the conservative attitude of manufacturers I decided to take control of the production and distribution. "
The result is a timeless collection for the upper end of the furniture market. The combination of classical ideas with innovative, modern techniques creates an exceptional position in the world of interior decorating. The harmony and function, the balance between elegance and simplicity are elements that give Ghyczy Selection the title "unique".
When asked about his sources of inspiration Peter Ghyczy cannot name any. Connoisseurs do recognize Art Deco elements, well-represented buildings and interiors in his native city Budapest.
When it comes to the future of his enterprise Peter Ghyczy is confident: son Felix has joined the company as junior director. One of his projects is Ghyczy NOVO, which reintroduced for example the Egg and many other products will follow. And what about Peter Ghyczy himself? " We are going to enlarge and perfect the collection and I am looking forward to having more focus on my real passion; designing itself."
